Agreed. It's an important feature. Look for it in a future release.

Thanks for your feedback!

Hasn't this feature implemented yet?
The promises were spread in the air over a year ago!

Export All, meaning all sessions from all times, not just the current open tabs, is a fundamental and critical feature, without which, there's no real added value to the whole SessionBuddy extension :-(

I think most users need this feature urgently, and not in the far future, to enable them:
1. To use the saved bookmarks on other PCs, exporting for another user or another account, not to mention, God forbid, the need to use some of the bookmarks on other browsers.
2. To save the tabs & sessions when upgrading a version, re-installing an OS, etc.
3. To see the all bookmarks saved from all times as a single group, so that they can be sorted / managed and saved accordingly, without the need to repeat the "open session" separately for each session.

Frankly, I don't know how this extension was released, even as a beta, without this most basic option!
Sorry for the hard words, but after accumulating so many bookmarks in various sessions I found that I can't really use them unless I'm on the same PC with the same account - I'm really disappointed!

Please do keep me posted & updated as soon as it gets available.

Sam.

Could not agree more since I use sessionbuddy as a kind of chaotic
refugee bookmark manager at the moment

+1

I could have used this feature today updating my work machine from my
home machine . .

Still love the software though!

Phil.

I just want to say I would love to have this feature, but I totally disagree with @Sam Hakosem and think session buddy is a fantastic piece of software even without the 'export all' feature. I appreciate having such a useful and nice-looking extension, especially for free! Ignore the haters :)

Thanks for the support, Pat. That means a lot.

@Sam: I accept responsibility for having a tendency to over-promise on features/timelines. After many years in software development, estimating effort realistically is apparently something I still suck at. I know it can be frustrating when you're anticipating something that doesn't end up being delivered. I'll try to do better with managing expectations going forward.

That said, do keep in mind that the only resource available to the development of Session Buddy is my own time. It's not a team effort and there is no funding driving the effort. This makes for unpredictable schedules and long release cycles.

"Export all" is definitely included in the next version, which is currently under development and likely not going to be released any time soon.

Cheers,
Hans

Hi Hans,
Again, sorry for the hush words, it's just frustrating not to be able to save / export my bookmarks and share or use them on other PCs.
I didn't know it was a single man's work - so well done.
BTW, I did mention & recommend SessionBuddy in many forums,  talk backs, emails and websites as well as in person.
So again, sorry if I offended you and thanks for your work, time & honest reply.
I'm a fresh developer myself and as soon as I get enough experience, I shall work on such extensions.
I did learn from you that it is probably very hard to give an estimation, even a rough one, for development timeline.
Wish you all the best and may you continue to contribute & help millions.
Yours, sincerely, Sam.

An easy way out. Near the tab "hide tab url's" "show tab url's" Make a new button. When clicked on it - The folowing text appears : I have a bunch of sessions saved on my PC but need to format due to
some other problems with the OS/hardware.

If you're on Vista/win7, copy the following SB data file and restore it when you're done with the format:

C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Local Storage\chrome-extension_edacconmaakjimmfgnblocblbcdcpbko_0.localstorage
End. So, it is much easier to do that. It'll work for now. (Before you make this feature work properly in a new version. For us - users It is much easier and it seems safe to do it manually.

I can't believe I didn't try this before, but you can select multiple sessions by Ctrl- or Shift-clicking. If you do this, session buddy will allow you to Unify Windows and/or Export to get all of the links from all of the sessions. It doesn't allow you to keep the names of your sessions, but it will allow you to export all of the links you had in those sessions (and import them as one big session if you want). It's 95% of what I need!

importing a big lump of text generated when "exporting all" into one massive session isn't a big matter -
however, if the Session Buddy's own "window" concept is ignored by itself during import, the "massive session" will turn out to be pretty much useless.

e.g., i now have a "massive session" of "1 window 269 tabs". i consider this session useless.

I'll disagree in the context of transferring tabs to another machine (assuming that the data is not corrupted). Once transferred, you don't have to open the session. You can instead view the session in Session Buddy and open tabs one at a time, deleting them from the session after opening them. Then save smaller sessions. One advantage here is that you can view the tab titles and group related tabs in a single session, then save the smaller groups organized by topic. It's slow, but it beats the heck out of not being able to transfer tabs to another machine.

Chrome's sync tabs has never worked for me; don't know why. But if Hansifer might someday find the time it would be very nice if Session Buddy might sync a selected saved session across machines. I don't know if Chrome's API exposes the sync controls needed to do that though.

I don't, since usually I need to search and not use every single one of them.
Best practice would be to export each url as a separate lnk file as IE does.

Bye-Sam.
