In 4.0.4 (and recent previous releases), clicking on the SB icon in the Chromium control bar generally does not open the SB tab management tab in the same window. While I have not fully analyzed behavior, it seems to open it in the most recent window the tab was previously open in. This isn't great UI, particularly because I use a window manager that supports multiple screens with open windows, as well as no autoraise on open - which means I click the icon, nothing appears to happen, and then I have to start hunting around among all the open browser windows in all the screens to find it.

Could the default behavior, or at least optionally controlled behavior, be to open the tab management tab in the same window the SB icon was clicked on?

The behavior you're describing should only occur when clicking the SB icon in an incognito window. Is that the case?

If so, that's by design. The extension tab isn't allowed to run in an incognito window.

Sorry I missed this earlier. The behavior is in the regular Chromium profile, not an incognito window. That said it is less reproducible now than it was when I originally reported this, so perhaps there have been changes in the interim that helped. FWIW using Chromium  130.0.6723.58 on Debian 12, Window Maker 0.95.9, SB 4.0.4 (of which only Chromium has been updated more recently than my original email, AFAIK).
