I can't get to my laptop now, so is there any way I can restore all my
tabs by a login? (I had assumed it used Gmail's, but I can't seem to
get to it.

Please let me know how this can be done. I need to back up two
defected hard drives to some new ones in a few days, and I hope my
original Session Buddy sessions are all going to be saved! Thanks in
advance.

Sessions are not currently stored in the cloud. They are stored locally in the following locations:

Windows Vista, Windows 7 (Chrome Dev, Beta, Prod Channels):
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default

Windows Vista, Windows 7 (Chrome Canary Build):
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome SxS\User Data\Default

OSX:
/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Default

Ubuntu:
/home/<username>/.config/google-chrome/Default

Good luck!

I had a question about this.  Are these files affected by the OS line ending differences?  So if I wanted to move a windows profile to an OSX system, would I need to change the line endings?

There was a big system failure on my primary HD this weekend, and when
I got W7 reinstalled onto the secondary drive, I was able to make the
primary drive show up again, but now it says "115 MB used of 215 GB
available" and the entire directory is empty. (I didn't authorize any
kind of formatting; it just happened this way when I took a nap
Saturday morning.) I had about 165-170 GB of -used- space on that
drive.

First, what's a great way to recover all the seemingly-gone data?
Second, so that I don't need to search through those folders to find
my old sessions, how do I put sessions to the cloud in my own way?
(Since SessionBuddy can't do this for us?)

Because of these hard drive failures, until I can afford a SSD, how do
I save EVERYTHING I ever make (That is, the entire contents of a hard
drive) onto a cloud?

Thanks,

That's a good question, Dan. I'm guessing yes, but it's probably moot
since the data (eg, session names, tab titles, URLs) should all be
single-line.

There's lots of services out there currently that could suit your
needs, but I'm not in a position to recommend one. All I can tell you
is that my experience with Carbonite was abysmal.

Perhaps some people in this group have some positive recommendations?

I am not sure why you think that would mater. The issue is the line
endings. So if the parser is looking for one line ending and it finds
another, it won't understand when one line begins and one line ends.
This assumes that it is an text file. If it is binary, then it should
be moot.

The format is binary (sqlite), but that doesn't mean line endings
aren't a consideration for multi-line content, regardless of encoding.
However, it seems that they get normalized to LF. Either way, not an
issue in this case since we're not storing multi-line content.

Anyway, the simple answer is that these files should be completely
portable across OS's.

I'm another crash victim who regrets local storage in this case, and
I've decided WebSQL is a terrible thing from a backup standpoint.

I logged into a Chromebook the other day, and all my extensions loaded
on the machine like magic. There was session buddy! But, of course, no
sessions stored. :-/

I hope you do work up a cloud mechanism -- one that leverages Google
apps, perhaps? Heck, just leverage their spreadsheets and make them
user-usable so folks can use their session data in other ways.
Extensible extensions!

Dear Hans,

I have found the file you refer to below - now what? How do I open this file or access the data within - apologies for my lack of tech-savviness! I urgently need to access my research.
