I have a fairly decent number of books (2000), I have edited the metadata in Calibre one at a time. calibre does not include the metadata in the file unless I save to disk. Now I have found fbreader book network. I want to upload all my books to it, but the metadata won't upload. the changes I made. And also, if I use the save to disk option and save all my books in a folder and upload them in fbreader, then next time I save the books again, a new file might be created, and fbreader might treat it as a new book, as it's md5 or other hashes would change.
My question is how did you guys tackle this. Thanks in advance.

fbreader doesn't have bookmark capability either so instead I installed coolreader.
I found coolreader-3.0.56-1pclos2014.rpm in a PClinuxOS archive in the "updates" section and converted it with
# tazpkg convert coolreader-3.0.56-1pclos2014.rpm
into a tazpkg and installed that.

Getting data out of /data isn't quite trivial though, especially since the app is not debuggable. /data isprotected, so we can't just waltz in with an adb shell and copy it (though you presumably can do this with a rootedphone). If we had access to a debug build of the application, we could use adb shell to use the run-as com.fbreadercommand to perform sudo-like command execution.

It will complain about an unexpected file end and report an unrecoverable error (because we're missing the footerchecksums), but it will nonetheless extract all data. Now you'll see a directory called apps, and you can headdirectly to apps/com.fbreader/db, where the books.db file will contain all we want to see.
