Connecting your Instagram account to Manychat allows you to leverage the power of automated messaging to engage with your followers, streamline your customer service, and enhance your social media marketing efforts. This guide is here to help you troubleshoot common issues and get your integration up and running smoothly.

1. Ensure you have a Professional Instagram account, either Creator or Business if your follower count is up to 500k or Business if it exceeds 500k. Here's a detailed guide for switching your account type.

1. To do this, switch to your personal Facebook profile, go to your Business Integrations, click View and edit next to Manychat, and make sure all permissions are granted:

If this Instagram account was previously linked to another Manychat account under a different profile you managed, please log into that profile to access the correct account where your Instagram is already connected.

If someone else, such as a former employee or an agency representative, previously connected this Instagram account, you need to contact them directly. They currently own the Manychat account to which this Instagram is linked and need to transfer ownership.

If you are unsure who the current account owner is or if they are unable to log in, please contact our Support Team. We will send a confirmation request to the current owner, and upon receiving it, we will be able to proceed with the transfer.

If you've already connected one of your Instagram accounts and see the following screen instead of the login prompt for the account you're trying to connect, make sure to first log out from the displayed Instagram account in the browser.

Wondering what those extra business account features mean for you, compared to a personal Instagram account? They provide access to insights about your Instagram marketing efforts, the chance to reach more people with ads, and many more perks!

With an Instagram business account, you can add a contact button to your bio so people can call or email you, increasing your chances of generating a sale. You even have the opportunity to add links in Stories so people can click back to your website whenever you post.

With a business account, you can create an online shop right there on your Instagram business profile to sell your products or services. Instagram Shops provide a full-screen storefront that allows customers to browse and buy in the app.

Once you have Instagram Shopping enabled, you can tag products from your shop in posts on your feed or Stories. You can also take advantage of ManyChat for Instagram, which provides the following IG selling features:

Using ManyChat, you can turn generic Instagram traffic into meaningful relationships. Chatting with your followers helps them become comfortable with your brand, leading to more sales for your business.

Switching to a professional account on a mobile phone is a very similar process. In the Instagram app, find the Settings, then scroll down to Switch to Professional Account, and choose Business to switch.

Please note: Only Creator accounts with less than 500K followers are eligible for DM Automation at this time. ManyChat will update this limitation when Facebook and Instagram lift these restrictions. There are no follower limitations for a Business account.

ManyChat is a Chat Marketing platform. Automate your Facebook Messenger and SMS with two-way personalized conversations for marketing, sales, and support, built with our visual drag n' drop flow builder.

This integration will allow users to connect their ActiveCampaign accounts to ManyChat seamlessly in just a few clicks. This will enable you to add a subscriber from your ManyChat account to the Contacts list in your ActiveCampaign account.

Reach millions of new customers, sell them exactly what they need, share coupons and promotions, track what's working with analytics, and much more. ManyChat also integrates with Shopify, PayPal, Stripe, Google Sheets, and 1500+ apps through third-party integrations like Zapier and Integromat.

Hello, I'm Kelly Noble Mirabella. I've been at the forefront of chatbot technology for over seven years, crafting innovative ways to use these digital assistants in marketing. As the brain behind Baby Got Bot and a pivotal contributor to ManyChat's educational course, I've helped shape how we interact with this technology.

But now, it's time for a shift. A new player, Chatbot Builder, has entered the field. This isn't just a change of tools; it's a leap toward a future where chatbots are more intelligent, responsive, and versatile than ever before. And the technology is moving at hyperspeed, only getting smarter by the day.

Some might wonder why I moved away from a platform I've been associated with for so long. It's not about the past but about the future. It's about pushing boundaries and embracing a tool that offers more than what we've known.

As a longtime advocate and partner of ManyChat, witnessing the decline in support has been disheartening. The robust agency partner support that was once the backbone of ManyChat's user relations has now faded. The shift to predominantly email support, plagued by long waiting times and unresolved issues, starkly contrasts the responsive and engaged community we once knew. It certainly does not help that the support team seems to hardly know the Meta rules, which can lead to bad advice and poor solutions.

This is where Chatbot Builder shines a new light. Their approach to support rekindles the essence of what it means to truly assist users. With a 24-hour blend of human and AI chat support, they're not just answering questions but building relationships. The presence of an active Discord community is a testament to their commitment to solving problems and fostering a collaborative environment. In an age where digital interaction is paramount, this level of dedicated support is not just commendable; it's essential.

The way ManyChat and Chatbot Builder handle support isn't just about how fast they answer or how many ways you can contact them. It's really about how they see their users. Chatbot Builder doesn't just see you as another number or ticket. They consider you a partner. They treat every question as a chance to learn more and make your experience better. They see each user as an important part of their community, and their success is directly tied to your success.

Chatbot Builder, however, charts a different course. From the moment you sign up, every account is equipped with OpenAI's GPT-3.5, a powerful AI tool that's ready to go. This isn't just about having AI; it's about having AI that's deeply integrated and immediately impactful. For about 90% of chatbot builders, GPT-3.5 offers ample capability to craft intuitive, responsive, and remarkably human-like chat assistants in their interactions.

This level of AI integration removes barriers, allowing users to focus on creating rich, engaging chatbot experiences without the hassle of external add-ons. Chatbot Builder was built with ai in mind and every step and advancement they make is to ensure you stay up with the latest tools to help you and your customers succeed!

For those seeking an even more advanced AI experience, Chatbot Builder offers the flexibility to integrate GPT-4 through your own API key. This option caters to users who want to push the boundaries further, harnessing the additional power and sophistication of GPT-4. Upgrading is straightforward, adding another layer of customization to your chatbot's capabilities. However, it's important to note that GPT-3.5's capabilities will more than suffice in delivering robust, intelligent chatbot interactions for most applications.

This stark contrast in AI offerings between ManyChat and Chatbot Builder clearly indicates the future trajectory of chatbot technology. We're moving beyond basic, scripted interactions into a realm where chatbots can learn, adapt, and provide increasingly personalized experiences. Chatbot Builder's forward-thinking approach in embedding advanced AI like GPT-3.5 as a standard feature demonstrates a commitment to accessibility and innovation in the chatbot space.

Any technology platform's true strength lies in its features and the minds and hands that shape it. This understanding has become increasingly clear to me as I transitioned from ManyChat to Chatbot Builder. ManyChat has predominantly been steered by developers and hindered by investors. This developer-centric approach, though innovative, sometimes needs to catch up in terms of practical functionality and flexibility that users in diverse industries desperately need.

Having explored the various facets of both ManyChat and Chatbot Builder, it's time to lay out a side-by-side comparison. I do not intend to give a feature-by-feature rundown but more of a look at how these platforms align with the real-world needs of businesses.

ManyChat offers a tiered pricing model, which can be accessible for small-scale users but quickly escalates costs for more advanced needs. Chatbot Builder, on the other hand, takes a more holistic approach, providing a balance of affordability and advanced features, ensuring businesses of all sizes can access powerful tools without prohibitive costs and can continue to grow without having to pay more.

I am not going to lie to you, I am not fond of people who will only pick a platform based on trials so for me this is a none issue. If you want the best, you pay for the tools you need to pay for to make you money. A trial will not change that. So while I understand that some will want to kick the tires, this should not be the most important decider if you are a serious chatbot builder.
