All the DLC's are already delisted so you can only buy the Normal, Deluxe or Ultimate editions.
The game will also be playable on all platforms after delisting, but some achievements will be impossible to get!
oh god what why is it getting delisted (I assume it won't go the way of the crew and made unplayable after that date [DLC's already gone and festivals are going away but main game will still playable])
Side note; I was looking for a comment on SG I think on this thread - -games-have-been-on-your-wishlist-the-longest where someone said Forza Horizon 4 was on their wishlist for a long time but I can't find it... I swear I saw someone commenting about FH4 being on their wishlist. Maybe they edited their comment since I distinctly remember them putting more than 3 games from their wishlist when the thread was just asking for top 3 lol. Definitely can't find it again.
The seasonal content is just a weekly playlist of events with additional rewards. You should be able to do all of that outside of the seasons either way and get the rewards with ingame currency from showrooms and auction house.
There are star card objectives locked to seasonal events, achievements locked to seasonal events, and it was a good way to earn content/wheelspins as opposed to spending a ton of time grinding to fight in the auction house. That aside, secondary reasons to replay content with specific restrictions/conditions adds replayability.
The Crew works no more. If you purchased it on steam, you still can install it but you can no more start it, as the game has been removed from everyone on Uplay. It was a slap to the face, as all players got a message starting uplay saying something like "we removed the crew 1 from you, why not continue the adventure with motorfest ?"
It's really different, here after game is delisted, you'll still be able to play Forza for some years as the servers will still be up.
And even more maybe, can it still be run offline ? Players say that partly yes.
The Crew or The Crew 2? Like coley said, the servers are offline for The Crew (1) and it's been removed form uplay entirely (which I was not aware of). The reason why it's an issue with The Crew AND it will be a problem for both The Crew 2 (not yet offline) and The Crew Motorfest is those games have a constant internet connection requirement to play the singleplayer campaign. So once the servers go down, unless you have a workaround to host a dummy server or get the offline mode working, the game is just dead sadly enough. Forza Horizon 4 does not have any such requirement so it'll be fine.
Have you played a FH before? Which other racing games did you like so far?
FH is arcade, you can adjust a lot, but it's definitely easier than simulators. It's a car collector from the start (at least as long as the game as a service part and the player based auction house is still available), no "career". Not a real story either, just there's a festival and you are the new star, but there are special side activities with themes, also collaborations with Top Gear etc. Besides Lego DLC and some fancy clothing it has a more serious tone as NfS e.g., no "cool" characters or flashy effects.
I'd recommend to get the Ultimate, price difference isn't much right now and you get two addons, Lego is about a small Lego city with a few cars, but you can also use the usual cars. Fortune Island is mostly dirt terrain and bad weather conditions. Depending on playstyle 5-10 additional hours each.
Only issue with this will be some achievements that are for horizon festival if someone want these achievements the last time to get them its now from today till 22 August. After 22 August we wont be able anymore to get these 5 achievements that comes with horizon festival.
They didn't state anything regarding other multiplayer functionalities yet, but it's possible that they might shutdown online services at some point later on. FH3 still has online servers, but it was broken on PC for a while and seems to be working now only with invitation (when I played it myself, it was broken, haven't tried yet again).
The other online achievements they will unlock just fine through playing the game. Only the festival will terminate complete and this one is the last till August 22. So we have 2 months to earn these 5 achievements. After that we wii be able to get 173 out of 178 achievements in steam. I will try to get these till 22 August buy they need time and patience.
I see they remove the option to buy these DLCS separately. I think they gave the option to buy them before some months. So yes a big bummer. I have the ultimate 1 year now and want to buy these now especially the hot wheels pack.
I wonder what happened. They could have announced this the same day the sale started and made more from everyone buying the Hot Wheels and Treasure map dlcs.on Steam. You can still find keys for the Xbox version

Unless you find Lego childish and don't like an island with more dirt/uneven terrain, I'd recommend to get Ultimate. If you want to be sure, check YT videos about addons.
Source: Forza FAQ. I suppose you'll get an Xbox login screen on startup, similar to the one Halo Infinite has. That's what I understand from that line.
I however do not have the game, wait for confirmation from someone who has the game if it's really an important point for you.

I think they figured it would stand out more if it wasn't drowned in the tsunami of discounts and people would be more likely to buy it if it was a short discount than a 2 weeks one with lots of other games to buy
I don't think that's right since big sales (like summer or even spring sale) are an exception for a majority of steam's sale policy. The 42h you're seeing is also the hour that summer sale starts, which is common for more or less every sale that's on right now, they either choose the start date of the big sale (and refreshes it to the same price until the end of the big sale) or they extend it out to the end of summer sale. There may be a steam rule where they aren't allowed to have a discount for more than 2 weeks or something so that's why they end it then, and then the exception kicks in and they're allowed to do whatever during the summer sale.
With the amount i have on steam i can only buy the Standard Edition. Should i wait and buy the Deluxe Edition or Ultimate Edition? I really want this game. Thanks for let us know that they are going to retire the game for store. Hope they make a 90% discount before they retire the game.
Get Ultimate. No point in getting the standard, the price difference is very little and you're getting a lot more with Ultimate. Seriously doubt it'll go to 90% off. Forza games always get delisted and AFAIK they never get 90% discounts
