XERO Items/Inventory/pricebook cleanup

We are trying to clean up and edit Xero's item list and find that we can't delete or merge items.  We plan to edit items used in 2017 invoices so to show the preferred item codes, but wonder if after the items are imported from Xero into SvcM8 we can delete unwanted items so that field staff don't accidentally use the ones we are trying to retire.
