Dear Fren
Could you please send the following text (invitation) to your email receivers. Please put the heading : Mangsir 7, Mass Program on constituent assembly, Jawlakhel. - Somat Ghimire
Our Constitution, Our Right!!
Achievement resulting from a long awaited peace dialogue lately has become historic. In this pretext, certainties of country heading towards constituent assembly have also heightened. It hints that there is now a dire need to expand and expedite debates and preparations on citizens' participation in the process of forming an inclusive state that secures rights of hitherto marginalized class and communities. It is the nature and thereby actualization of this process that portray a sketch of democratic republican Nepal. With this conviction, various organizations including Community Development Organization (CDO), Federation of Community Forest Users Groups in Nepal (FECOFUN), Rastriya Dalit Network (RDN), Community Self Reliance Centre (CSRC) and Nepal South Asia Centre (NESAC) with involvement of several other local organizations from Saptari, Siraha, Dang, Dhangadhi and Mugu, initiated massive discussions and citizens' conferences on these issues at various parts of the country. A collective national conference in Kathmandu with involvement of speakers raising concrete and vibrant issues during these mass programs had been envisaged earlier.
The national conference on Mangsir 7, 2063 (Nov 23, 2006) is going to be a one day program. In the very first session, highly marginalized social groups such as Badi, Halliya, Freed- Kamaiya, Bote-Majhi, Chepang, Madheshi Dalits and Karnali Dalits will present their agenda. In the next session, Chandra Bahadur Sahi, Chandra Bhandari, Prakash Jwala and Gagan Thapa who actively participated during regional dialogues and mass meetings will briefly exchange their experiences. Then, top level political party and citizens' leaders will deliver opinions on those issues raised in milieu of contemporary political scenario.
We put forth a request for your active presence in the program.
