Media Outreach Intern or Volunteer

SERRV is seeking to fill a summer intern or volunteer opportunity in
our office in Madison, Wisconsin, to assist with writing, mailing,
data entry and marketing tasks. This is an ideal opportunity for a
college student interested in acquiring media outreach experience with
a mid-size nonprofit. This position is unpaid.

Recommended hours per week: 8+

Working with our Public Relations Coordinator:
· Write targeted letters or press releases about SERRV's work, artisan
groups or handcrafts
· Pitch SERRV to media sources through mail, email, phone or fax
· Research free or inexpensive promotional opportunities online
· Update and build contact information spreadsheets
· Build content for SERRV’s social networking presence
· Additional projects as needed

Qualifications
· Interest in public relations and fair trade
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Personable self starter and creative researcher
· Computer skills: Word and Excel needed. Some photo editing software
skills desired.
