SuperiorSound is a 13,000 square foot space that hosts three recording studios and a fully equipped video editing suite. Jim Wirt of Crushtone Studios, Jim Stewart of Jim Stewart Recording, and Bill DeMarco/Jon Richey of Vuture Studios (audio/video) make up this collective of industry professionals working in facilities comprised of a collection of legendary analog and digital gear. 1) yes, you can use Superior 1 sound libraries in Superior 2. You do not need to install the Superior 1 plugin(s) at all, just the sounds and their SoundsUpdates.

2) no incompatibilities, just more possibilities.

3) Mixing kit pieces between Superior 1 libraries is totally transparent. Mixing between Superior 2, Superior 1 and EZdrummer EZX kit pieces is possible via the use of X-drums in Superior 2.

One drawback is that I want to charge the headphones overnight without attaching them to a computer. On their website they state that the Evolve2 65 can be charged using a wall charger. I imagine that is also the case for the Evolve2 55 and would have loved a wall charger to have been provided with it or, at least, for them to make that option clear in their visual instructions.

The headphones are very comfortable, like little pillows for the ears. My ears get very hot, very quickly when wearing headphones but I feel like I could keep the Evolve2 55 headphones on all day without much of an issue.

Its Bruce Hall dormitory is home to the Music & Jazz Living Learning Communities and cultivates a rich, creative environment for all its residents. One of the secrets to student success is supplying them with the equipment necessary to succeed. First-rate practice rooms with advanced acoustical technology fall into that category. To make sure students could get the most out of their practice time, the school partnered with Wenger to install brand new Wenger SoundLok Sound-Isolation Rooms with the latest Virtual Acoustic Environment (VAE) technology in Bruce Hall, home to hundreds of student musicians.

UNT was one of the first schools in the country to install Wenger sound isolation practice rooms. For 45 years, those rooms served thousands of students well. But the rooms were in need of repairs. The college was interested in learning about new features and new technology that new rooms could provide.

VAE technology also allows teachers to follow the assessment strategy recommended in the National Standards for Music Education, and increase their ability to evaluate the progress of more students in less time.

Gustafson says students have also found the spaces useful for recording podcasts, music for personal projects, or sound clips for film. The rooms are used an average of 500 hours each week. Because of their popularity, UNT had to implement a one-hour limit per person to give all residents an opportunity to use the rooms.

1. Why did you choose Orion Studio by Antelope Audio?

A couple of years ago I wanted to upgrade my AD/DA and it was about this time that Antelope Audio entered the domestic market. A friend of mine commented that the sound of Orion Studio was very good and I thought that this model should offer good value for the money. Same price-level interfaces have only 4 pre-amps, while the Orion sports whole 12 of them, so I thought it was quite practical. I could easily record a small band with it. So, I bought it.

3. What was your first impression when you heard our converters?

My first impression was that the sound is very clear and very rich in details. It is indeed a big improvement over the previous interface I used.

5. Have our products changed your workflow and how exactly? Is it quicker, more convenient, etc.?

Because of the routing matrix, connecting various peripheral devices has become very convenient. Besides this, the Orion Studio has 4 internal mixers, which is also extremely useful! I use Mixer 1 for monitoring in the control room, Mixer 2 for monitoring in the recording room and sometimes I use Mixer 3 and 4 to route the signal to different outputs for monitoring by different musicians. Since the sound and volume that everyone needs to hear differs, the design of the mixer is indeed very functional.

8. Would you recommend Orion Studio to other audio professionals?

Of course, but I would not limit them to the Orion Studio. To producers who do not need that many ins and outs I would recommend the Discrete 4. For those working in professional studios and needing more connectivity options, I would recommend the Orion32 HD. Most recently my own studio also needed a major upgrade, so I actually just got an Orion32 HD.
