Insect species native to the Pegasus Galaxy. Based on information gathered from the Ancient database and Atlantis expedition members' encounters with the creatures, it is believed that the iratus bug is responsible for the evolutionary development and life-absorbing urges of the Wraith. The combination of iratus and human D.N.A. brought about the Wraith form over millions of years.

Iratus bugs typically live and breed in dark, secluded caves. Hundreds, perhaps even thousands of the bugs can exist in extremely close proximity to one another, sharing large nests. They are known to exist on at least two worlds, including the planet presently classified as the Wraith homeworld. The creatures are capable of spinning and dangling from sticky, spider-like webbing, which they may use to ensnare their prey in order to feed.

The species maintains the eggs of their young in enormous sacks that dangle from the ceilings of the caves they inhabit. One sack can hold hundreds of eggs, and support the weight of a 150-pound man, without the breaking and falling to the ground. The exterior casing is thick and resilient.

An iratus is like a Wraith in that it has very fast regenerative capabilities. It can withstand several direct assaults by an Earth handgun and still maintain itself long enough to eventually attack again. It is known to assault its prey by burrowing like a tick into the neck of human flesh, wrapping its short, claw-like legs around the neck. The victim quickly loses motor control in the extremities, and soon his vital organs shut down.

The present theory is that the Wraith evolved when the Ancients seeded their world with human-form life, as they did throughout the Pegasus Galaxy. The iratus fed off the humans, and the early humanoids on their world incorporated iratus D.N.A. into their own. Dr. Carson Beckett has developed a prototype for an iratus bug retrovirus that would, in theory, strip the insect D.N.A. from a Wraith and leave only human biology.

Iodine and alcohol (poured on the soft tissue) have no effect on the creatures. However, the bugs are repelled by salt water. It is currently the only known deterrent (though this does not stop an iratus from feeding). The insect will only cease its life-sucking if the life-form it is attached to is dead.

Thirty Eight Minutes - While investigating a Wraith world Sheppard is prey to an iratus bug, who refuses to let go until he is dead.
Conversion - Dr. Beckett and Major Lorne lead a team to retrieve eggs from a nesting ground of iratus bugs in the hopes of returning Colonel Sheppard to his fully-human makeup.
Vengeance - Sheppard's team discovers one of Michael's labs, where the hybrid is using iratus bugs for nefarious purposes.
Infection - To try and save his life, the Wraith Todd goes in search of an iratus queen to feed on him.

Hi. This is Thesecret1070. I am an admin of this site. Edit as much as you wish, but one little thing... If you are going to edit a lot, then make yourself a user and login. Other than that, enjoy Villains Wiki!!!

He is a tyrannical and power hungry necromancer who, a millenia ago, attempted, and failed, to conquer the world, it was later trapped in a sarcophagus in the depth of a cave, where it spended a 1000 years to ponder over his mistakes; only to be freed by accident by a bunch of miners allowing him to resume his campaign.

Iratus is a tall and muscular man of unknown age, with long black hairs reaching over his shoulders and flaming red eyes with a yellow iris, spiral tattoos are present on his arms and chest, his skin is of a pale blue, possibly because it is already dead.

it has 3 golden rings on his fingers and wears a black spiked crown on his head while a medallion with a skull engraved on it hangs from his neck, surrounded by 4 rubyes. it wears two broken shackles on his wrists.

he believes himself to be the righteous ruler of the world and will stop at nothing to achieve this goal, he also think of life as a disease and as such will mercilessly kill everyone he meets to add them to his army, cultist were shown to be the sole exception but only because they give him various gifts to boost his army.

very sadistic, he enjoys to torture his enemies as well as his minions often corrupting them or brainwashing them to do his biddings, his manierism is more shown with his liches, who scream commands at their allies, gladly sacrifice them to help themselves and take pleasure in ending lifes.

his minions aren't safe from his wrath, although Iratus refrains from killing them, he doesn't care about them in the slightest only using them to leave the dungeon he is trapped in, the undead who won't follow his commands willingly get forced to do so, like his blood phantasm who are blinded by illusion spells and forced to see Iratus in every enemy, using their thirst for revenge to his benefits and enjoying the fact that they will be forever haunted by his visage.

Iratus backstory is mostly unknown, in the past he became part of a guild of necromancers, although his talents were never appreciated, at some point he started taking students, stopping however after killing the forth or fifth one because he was annoyed by their questions, during this time Iratus managed to master death completely, achieving immortality, after this he attempted to conquer the world, almost succeeding but a group of 4 heroes stood in his way and managed to "kill" him, trapped in a sarcophagus closed with a special seal to keep it inside he was dragged in the depths of the heart to be imprisoned forever.

at some point in time the art of necromancy was declared illegal by the empire, causing the guild to flee to the frigid north where they all died imprisoned by the cold in an attempt to obtain immortality like Iratus did, they later returned as the Unfrozen, undead under Iratus domain.

a thousand years passed after Iratus defeat, years that he passed in absolute boredom, pondering over his mistakes and how close he was to victory, hoping that he will be given another chance at conquering the world before is inevitable end, lucky for him a group of miners stumbled upon his tomb, cluelessly breaking the seal that kept him locked inside his prison, free again, Iratus breaks out of his chamber and kills the miners, ready to conquer the world again.

after turning his cell into his headquarters, Iratus begins to make his way into the surface, his first step to freedom being the mines where the empire sends his miners to extract important minerals from the earth. since the miners are mostly prisoners kept docile with drugs and torture, Iratus has no problem dispatching them, collecting their body parts to create more powerful undeads, he makes his way to the end of the mines, where he encounters the Mistress, the daughter of a noble who committed a heinous crime and was sentenced to death in the mines, she is the first boss of the game but Iratus manages to defeat her and reach the dwarf tunnels.

the dwarf tunnels is where the alchemy guild resides, a place where the dwarfs create their experimental concoctions and machinery to be used in the mines, with no regards for the life of the prisoners, Iratus make his way through this level too, slaghering every dwarf that stands in his way.

Iratus murders his way to the warmachines, two dwarfs that were entombed inside metal suits to try and stop the necromancer, using fire and bullets against him, after a long fight Iratus wins and makes his way to the upper level.

the mercenary barracks are an unfinished dungeon, where groups of mercenaries resides, they were paid to stop Iratus before he can make his way to the mages laboratorys, however the lack of loyalty makes them vulnerable to deception and iratus can even convince some of them to fight for him.

the catacombs are the only thing standing between iratus and freedom, unfortunately for him however, the access to the upper level where sealed by the order, forcing him to reach the very end of the level, while the mages where left to die to buy time for the order.
