After using SeriesGuide for some time and finding it quite useful, I decided to upgrade today to help support future development.  However, I ran into a couple issues after downloading SeriesGuide X that you may want to take a look at.

I've upgraded the majority of my free apps to their paid versions, and normally, as part of the install process, the paid version automatically uninstalls the free version and all of the existing app's data and settings are transferred over to the paid version.  Unfortunately, this didn't happen for me with SeriesGuide (SG).

After installing SeriesGuide X (SGX), I now had both SG and SGX installed and no data in SGX.  I did a Backup in SG but after doing a Restore of the data in SGX, I still had no show info in SGX.  Did the process a second time and it seemed to work, with my show info successfully imported, yet none of my settings, like Update on WiFi only, Number Format, etc., requiring me to manually set them once more.

Not a huge deal, but definitely something that could be improved to make the upgrade process a bit simpler...

Also, given the ability to do in-app purchases, I was curious if you had explored the possibility of handling the upgrade through that mechanism instead of having two separate apps?

Huh?  Just noticed that none of my info about which episodes were watched, etc. was restored either!?  So what exactly does backup/restore include, just the list of shows?

Thinking I'll just uninstall the "upgrade" and go back to using the free version so I don't have to update all my info...  :(

Sorry for the bad experience there. Actually the whole database should get restored including any watched or collected flags. And you are right, Settings do not get ported over.

I looked at In-app purchasing a while ago, but dismissed it for some reason. I had a look at the info page again and it seems a viable option and I will see to make use of it in a future release. The main problem going forward is obviously being unable to remove the X version from the store as I do not know a way to convert their licences without building my own server infrastructure. However I can always keep both around.
