RED FLAGS

Characteristics that should alert you to possible problems in a
relationship

If the person displays the following:

Superficial or extremely charming early into the relationship
A sense of self-worth that is over-blown.
Restlessness and a need for action or proneness to boredom
Lying for no apparent reason or lying in order to deceive others.
Conning/manipulative in order to control others so things go their
way.
Lack of remorse or guilt. Difficulty in saying "I'm sorry" with
sincerity.
Unable to have feelings for others who are having problems
Callous or cold at unexpected times
Taking advantage of others; never paying their own expenses or using
others belongings as though they were their own
Poor behavior controls. Displays out of control anger or unusually
immature reactions.
Promiscuous sexual behavior or pornographic addictions - abnormal
standards of conduct
Early behavior problems as a teenager
Lack of realistic, long-term personal goals. Unrealistic "pipe-
dreams" about winning the lottery etc.
An impulse buyer or impulsively deciding to act without preparations
or plans.
Irresponsibility in paying bills on time, fulfilling commitments,
showing up for work on time, and following through with promises.
Frequent change of jobs.
Hesitant to divulge information about their childhood or family. A
loner with only casual friends.
Failure to accept responsibility for own actions. Making excuses for
mistakes and blaming others
Many short-term relationships
