DALLAS, Texas (AP) -- A Texas man who spent more than 15 years in
prison after being wrongly convicted of kidnapping and robbery raised
both arms skyward and collapsed in his mother's embrace Thursday after
being told he was a free man.

Patrick Waller, along with Innocence Project director John Stickels,
rejoices as the decision is announced.

Patrick Waller's sobs were the only sound at a crowded hearing
attended by four other inmates also exonerated by DNA testing.

"It's all right, honey," Patricia Cunningham told her son. "It's over.
You're out of here. You're going home."

The Innocence Project is comprised of a group of law students working
to exonerate people wrongfully convicted of crimes they didn't
commit.... Apparently, there's been some faulty police work....
ummmm, let's see, let's round up the usual suspects...

It's a donright dirty shame. Hopefully Texas will have to repay these
innocent people more than they have paid to them in the past.

Also, doesn't Texas use the Death Penalty freehandedly? Imagine all
of the innocent men and women that have lost their lives to the Texas
legal system's carelessness.
