MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin (AP) -- A man has been found guilty of raping
three girls and a woman between August 1994 and January 1995 in a case
kept alive when prosecutors filed charges based only on a DNA profile.

My expbf had to give a DNA sample after he got out of jail for
aggravated assault awhile back. All persons covicted of violent
felonies must give a sample in the state I live in. Many people
think this violates the felon's rights but I think it is wonderful!

The emergence of DNA has resulted in convictions in 'cold cases' and
on the other side of the coin, DNA has been able to free people who
were wrongfully convicted.

Here is a link to a website that supports the people that have been
freed because their DNA did not match the DNA of the guilty person
involved. Many of them are barely compensated for their loss...some
aren't compensated at all.
