Hi, I see Hadop wiki(http://wiki.apache.org/hadoop/Virtual%20Hadoop) said now is part of Apache Hadoop 1.2.0+?
Few question:
1. Is it download Apache Hadoop 1.2.0+ will automatic including this project's code?
2. I see PROJECT SERENGETI now have own JIRA and community, why not in Apache Hadoop community? That make very confuse.

Hi Jackson,

For question 1, no, 1.2.0 + will only contains HVE (Hadoop Virtualization Extensions) project code which is to enhance hadoop running on virtualization platform (please refer to HADOOP-8468).

For question 2, As mentioned in question 1, we are working closely with Apache Hadoop community to enhance hadoop running on virtualization platform. However, Project Serengeti is not part of Apache Hadoop, it's an open source project initiated by VMware to automate deployment and management of Apache Hadoop clusters on virtualized environments such as vSphere. Project Serengeti code can deploy multiple Apache Hadoop based distributions from several vendors.

In one word. Serengeti and HVE is two different projects, both developed by VMware.
