Which version of VC are you using?

This error means the ovf element 'vServiceDependencySection' is not supported. That depends on vCenter Extension vService, which is the standard service of VC 5.0.

I got this error:

Do I need to install something else first?

You probably tried to deploy the ova on a ESX host directly, please switch to a vc server and have another try.

Please do another check, make sure the status of vService Manager is GREEN. From the vi client, go to Home -> Administration -> vCenter Solution Manager, and find the vService Manager from the left panel, check its status. If it's not GREEN, you need to restart your VC.
