Run-time error '5':

Hi Everybody:

I have tried to use SDT tool in Windows 8.1 Professional  64-bit version (as a Virtual Machine using Parallels Desktop in Mac OS), installation OK, and loading sequences in FASTA format OK, however at the final of the analysis display the results and an emerging window with the message: "Run-Time error '5': call or run invalid".

Well this emerging window message does not appear in a PC running windows natively, Windows 8 64-bit version. In this case the SDT tools works flawless.

I would like to know what is going on with SDT tool, perhaps just works in Windows 8 and does not work in Windows 8.1 Professional?

SDT seemed to have problems when running on under wine. It might also have problems on virtual machine on MAC. I believe it should work on windows8.1 professional on a PC.
If you are only interested sequence identity scores, I recommend to run the python version for MAC.

Thank you for your quick answer.

I have installed SDT tool in a PC running natively Windows. It's good to know the issues that could have a program running in a Virtual Machine. I've tried to run SDT using python but it does not work.

Again thanks, SDT tool is an excellent program (precise, ease of use and the results are of excellent quality).

Solution:

Run the program with administrator's rights by right-clicking on the SDTv1.2 icon and choosing run as administrator.

Same problem. Windows 10. Tried re-installing, running as admin, different fasta files as input...nothing works.
