In preferences I have set Default Encoding to utf8mb4. Every time I create a new database the encoding is set to "Default (latin1)". I have to manually change it to utf8mb4 every time. What is going wrong? Where else can I change this setting?

Hi,

You might try editing your my.conf

Adding this might help:

# For advice on how to change settings please see
# http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.6/en/server-configuration-defaults.html
[client]
default-character-set = utf8mb4
[mysql]
default-character-set = utf8mb4

Talk to you soon,

-Allen
