Hello, Peter:

I´m Enrique, from: http://psychedelic-geometry.blogspot.com/ I hope
to be helpful.

At the momment I´m trying to repair my application for Mathematica to
handle OEIS Sequences:

http://oeis.org/wiki/User:Enrique_P%C3%A9rez_Herrrero/OEIS_Package

This little package is very useful to work with OEIS: to get,
citation, data, plots... It worked perfectly with the OEIS classic
style, but now they have changed the link and everything is a mess,
this is not going to take me very much time in case I could be at home
instead of traveling by my job (unpredictable).

I also intend to add a way to, for example, input a list of sequences
Ids and get the code to insert inside the wiki as links or references.

I already have other little program that can send a bFile computed
with Mathematica to OEIS, by email, I´ve been using it for months and
it is good, buy I don´t want to put this code into the internet to
avoid a traffic jam to the editors.

Other proyect I have is to use a server that can receive email and
accept PHP, in order to read emails sent to this server with a list of
Ids, and some keywords, and then this servers replays you, by email,
with the BibTeX citation codes, or html links, or... whatever desired,
to avoid the use of other software.

In my opinion there is a big mess in the code of sequences, there are
people that enters code that gives a list of numbers instead of a
function.

I suggest to use ALWAYS as a function name, in the code, the sequence
Id for example:

A005894[n_]:=... instead of a[n_], of f[n_]

Other unexplored way of coding sequences, that I think is perfectly
valid, is to program a Characteristic function, this is true, or 1 if
n is in the sequence false or 0, otherwise.

This should be notated as: A005894Q[n_]

Regards

I think much of the stuff what Daniel did is now broken, all his great
categorizations. I wonder if the great benefit of his work has been
noticed at all. Daniel suggests now to implement a category system
for
the main oeis.org... Well, we will see if this will ever happen.

I wished something similar would also exist for Maple.

See my other thread above, I am just looking for a nice b-file for
Matthew's intriguing A094348; however best written with Maple :)

(By the way, looking for Mathematica 8? To download the trial
go here: http://www.wolfram.com/mathematica/trial/ )

Cheers, Peter
