Another story by Elia Karmona and two by Jane Mushabac

Dear Sephardi-Mizrahi Caucus, 

I’m delighted to learn that Dr. Nora Gold, editor of Jewish Fiction, has just published a new translation of an Elia Karmona short story, “Saved by his Enemy.”  

I want to share that four other English translations of Ladino short stories have appeared in Jewish Fiction, including two of mine, plus one by Elia Karmona, and one by Ben-Yitshak Sacerdote. 

“Then and Now,” by Jane Mushabac appeared in Sept 2025.  You can read it here: https://jewishfiction.com/story/then-and-now/   It appeared serially in Ladino in Aki Yerushalayim in Des 2023-Mar 2025. 

“Song,”  my other story,  appeared in Sept 2023 and was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. 

The story by Elia Karmona appeared in April 2013 and the one by Sacerdote in Aug 2012.
