I have clicked on reset password and entered my email address, but I have not received the
email. Usually, these processes are very fast. Is there any problem with my account?

I have been able to regain access to my account, it was a problem with the user name.
Nevertheless, the fact that the system was not sending the supposedly automatic message and, more important,
the lack of any assistance and support contact makes me worry about the actual reliability of SEPAL.

Dear Agustin

Happy you solved your issue.

You must appreciate that we are a small (but dedicated) team trying to make SEPAL as functional and useful as possible. We do not have a full technical support staff. We all try to keep developing the platform, applying the platform globally, project planning, etc and also answering questions as we can. Sometimes it takes time for us also to think about what could be the problem. We have this listserv so not only us but others in the SEPAL user community can try to help. This is the best we can do at the moment. There is no issue with the reliability of the platform. But at the same time, it is not a commercial software and there will be issues. Sorry for any problems it may have caused.

Best
Erik

Dear Erik,
I understand you may be overloaded, and for sure, I am thankful for your work,  but if the system fails to send the automatic message for password reset, then yes, Sepal has a reliability problem.
Just think of a student working on a project with a deadline, and facing such an issue. I am precisely testing to assess if I can advise a student
to carry out a project in Sepal. Perhaps you should have a support address for system-related problems.
Is the problem solved, and does the password reset procedure work now?
Best,
Agus

Dear Agustin

The e-mail password reset seems to be working fine. I and other SEPAL team members have tried it and all received password reset e-mails quickly (within minutes). I am not sure why it would not be working for you. It could be blocked by your institution? It could be in spam directory? One thing to note, you must use your e-mail that is associated with your SEPAL user account. We do not send e-mails to just any e-mail entered into the form. If you are using an e-mail not associated with your user account, you will of course not receive a password reset link.

For the BFAST explorer, we are working to see what is the issue as you have seen from another e-mail. If you are interested in time series analysis, may I also suggest the CCDC-based routines we have in the main interface of SEPAL.

Please let us know if you eventually have success with this. I leave it to you to decide, of course, if Sepal is suitable for a student. We think it is.

Best
Erik

As you guessed, most likely the problem was caused by myself using my gmail address (which is the one needed to subscribe to the email group) instead of my professional address, which
is the one registered in Sepal (but I prefer not to try, just in case).
Please note I was not upset for the issue (which in fact was caused by an error of mine), but worried about the lack of an answer. I did not know what to do for days.
I suggest a note to the user emphasizing that, in case no confirmation email is received, he/she should make sure that the Sepal-registered address is being used.

Many thanks for suggesting the CCDC-based routines. I will try them as well. As you can see in the other conversation, the issue with BFAST has been fixed.

Best,
Agus
