I just bought a computer (pc) and I have a laptop (mac) and I am thinking to buy a rhino licence, I was wondering if there was floating licences so that I can use on both once at a time?
If not, If I buy a license do I have to choose between mac and windows? or can I change my mind and remove the licence for windows and install it on my mac at some point? (so far it was the companies I worked with that provided rhino already on their computer so I am not sure how it works)
I have recently upgraded my M365 licence from Business Basic to Business Premium, after previously having a trial of M365 E5. When I was running the trial E5 licence I had all my installs of Edge syncing via my M365 account. This stopped when the trial ran out, as I then had no AAD licence.
On purchasing my M365 Business Premium licence I expected the sync to start again, however it errors with the message "Sync is not available for this account" and the sync button is greyed out, even though I now have the correct licence. I raised this with M365 Business support team. They tried a lot of troubleshooting to no avail and have now referred me to Edge support.
@Jon Flannagan Hello! Sorry to hear about your issues! You mentioned you tried to some steps to fix. Is this the documentation you were following? -us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-troubleshoot-enterprise-sync#issue-sync-i...
Hi Kelly,
Yes that's the article I have followed. I have tried raising a ticket with Edge support as well as M365 support, however Edge support refused the ticket as its a "business" 365 account, even through I am just a personal user with one license in 365 for my domain. Plus they said they cant support AAD
They referred me to Commercial Browser Support, but I am not a premier support customer and pay per incident support is not available for me as it says its not available for Azure Active Directory accounts. Edge supports other option was to post on here.
@Jon Flannagan I got some additional information from the team, if there was a previous M365 subscription which was then replaced with a new subscription it is possible that the tenant ID has changed and the service data needs to be reset. Please see here for instructions: -us/deployedge/edge-learnmore-reset-data-in-cloud
@Herr_Merlin I did, but after looking back not sure how much help I can be, as I was never really sure what fixed it in the end. Below are the closing notes I sent to the support engineer (raised separately to this forum post). I think the Edge Sync page I am referring to there is this edge://sync-internals/
I spent hours and hours on this, eventually I found that for one particular customer I had to enable Enterprise State Roaming and that fixed the problem instantly (in some cases had to sign out of Edge and back in again)
i have 30 machines with Win10 Home on them however to get the E3 Licence on them I need to upgrade to Pro first and then when the user signs in with their 365 credentials it pulls down the E3 licence.
Trying to upgrade to Pro has proved rather challenging, I have booted from the Media creation tool that microsoft recommend but the tool is automatically choosing home with no option to change to pro. i have used ubuntu to remove the partitions and format the drive to then install windows and for it to pick up the home licence again. my thought that the home key is embedded so i went into bios and found this setting in there, apologies cant remember the exact name but it was something Keys, disabled this and again no joy when trying to upgrade.
Not sure about the specific licensing program you are using but generally Enterprise requires the system to have an existing Pro license which means you purchase the Home-to-Pro upgrade for $99 from the Microsoft Store or spend $200 for a retail license for each machine before you are allowed to install Enterprise.
Not sure if the computer has to be running Pro or just be licensed for it, but each machine for sure has to be licensed for Pro before you can use Enterprise. Since the cheapest way (by far) is to upgrade through the store, which would activate Pro, why not just go that route?
Unfortunately, I don't get a "continue trial" option. I get the following licence activation box only. I use the same login details here as what I use to log into my affinity account online. I'm not able to get past this to open the application
I have the same issue as user m3000. The app downloaded is an .MSIX install, it is a Windows store installer. If you are having an issue with the Windows Store or any Store apps there is NO WAY to activate the app.
Serif programmers MUST take a different tack and have an option to pass off the Universal license number for local activation. Then once the app is open you can sign into the account inside the account for server side confirmation. This will avoid any firewall issues as well as 3rd party security program firewall blocking.
OR provide an EXE install.

Please can you confirm you are getting the same error about the Affinity ID and Password not being recognised. This shouldn't be related to a Firewall blocking Affinity, as you'd get a different error as well as notification from your firewall the app is being blocked.
There is no workaround when the server cannot be connected. This NOT a Firewall issue in my case. Is there a way to activate the app after sign in.with my account I have a Universal license and it works as designed on the Mac and iPad, the Windows store has a LOT to be desired and i need a way to launch the app without first activating, THEN sign into my account. An .MSIX files can look to a URL for updates to run the newest version, perhaps a post activation version would address this issue.
Hi, I had the same issue. However I tried first to use my V2 license code to get in. The trick was, that didn't read correctly, what the input mask really wanted - you should use your ID, used for your Affinity account and then don't put in your license code, but your password for your Affinity account.
The email address is the one associated with your account at the Affinity Store (store.serif.com or affinity.serif.com/store) and the password for it. It is not the email address associated with these forums (forum.affinity.serif.com).
And if you are letting a password manager fill this in for you, it might be choosing the wrong one. (That happened to me on my iPad, where the facial recognition and automatic fill-in chose the wrong account.)
I did a reset of my password manually. Start one Affinty App, in the Dialog to enter your ID, i clicked "forgot my Password" an set a Passphrase easy to remember instead of usung automatic feature by the Mac
I have now installed it directly from the Windows Store. This allowed me to select a trial option before going to the activation screen (this does not happen with the download from the affinity store).
@stokerg mentioned above that the logs showed you had entered either the wrong ID or password during the Activation step. And you mentioned you've changed the password, and clearly (from the screenshot above) you know the right ID and password
If that same ID and password are failing in the Activation step, possibly there's a flaw in the Activation code that can't handle some characters in email addresses or in the password. Have you tried a shorter password, and one containing more common characters (perhaps just upper- and lower-case letters and digits)? Sometimes excessively complex passwords can confuse applications. (I also saw one post mentioning an issue with "&" in an email address.)
Hi Walt - thanks for all your support. I changed my password to something very short with no special characters and numbers and then waited 24 hours. It actually worked this time ? Finally managed to activate the licence!
I have purchased two servers HP Proliant Dl360 GEN 10 i have installed all whit the Windows Server 2016 Standard evaluation 180 Version , then i have installed all the driver and the Proliant service Pack, i have also speaked whit the HPE Support and i asked if i have too purchase the HP branded windows server license, and they said that is not important couse my warranty not include software assistance, so im free to purchase the standar non branded license and install the proliant service pack for the drivers, and thats what i have done , otherwise if buy the HP branded license i should reinstall all the S.O. from zero couse the HP branded license is not a normal key and i cant activate the normal S.O. .
