What do you think/say, when you have been asked "what are the risks
involved in uploading a real photograph in Social networking sites"?

- The internet is full of normal smart people, including your real
friends. For them, seeing your real picture (or some recognizable
transformed picture) is fine and useful, as well as other personal
information
- The internet is also full of scammers, some of them working on
identity theft or visiting your home when you have publicly stated
that you are away for 2 weeks while hinting that you have worthwhile
belongings.

So you MUST use your personal wisdom to decide which personal
information you put on the internet. DO NOT assume that the
"guaranteed privacy" offered by sites (eg FaceBook) will always work:
there might be some error in the privacy management or in security
which might suddenly make available all of your information...

And never, never, never put on ANY site information that you would not
want your boss or mother to see...

===> since however Google or others might find pieces of information
you have left behind you (check with http://www.123people.com, you
will have some surprises!), you should also have a PROACTIVE
communication strategy, ie make public some photos and information:
they will be useful to "dampen" and unwanted new information, not
hiding them but pushing them down in the lists...
