Role Summary:
The Data Analyst will perform complex data analysis in support of ad-hoc and standing requests from internal and external clients. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with multiple IT/ASG teams in a matrix environment to influence enhancements, design, and mutual understanding of business needs.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Data Analysis to identify business requirement impacts
Collaborating with IT Data Architecture partners to ensure data design is consistent and accurate
Communicating functional requirements and source-to-target mappings to Development partners for implementation
Serving as an expert resource on matters of data and functional requirements to business and IT partners in all phases of data warehouse and data mart development, implementation and support.
Ensuring that artifacts/documentation are maintained across multiple implementations
Eliciting and documenting functional requirements thru facilitated sessions with business analysts and business and IT interfacing partners
Data profiling source systems across multiple computing environments (e.g., host based flat files, host and distributed RDBMS) using native SQL and tools
Qualifications:
6+ years of progressive hands-on experience with data analysis in SQL, Data Warehouse environment
Must have experience in Healthcare insurance
Must have working SQL knowledge (includes designing complex stored procedures, data tailoring etc.)
Must have experience in data profiling
Must have experience in requirements identification
Must have excellent communication, collaboration and facilitation skills
Strong Office Suite experience: Visio, Word, and Excel.
Ability to lead, guide, and mentor without direct reporting relationship.
Ability to influence technical discussions and decisions.
Strong work ethic and sense of urgency.
Experience with fast-paced start-up software development environments.
Tested ability to handle multiple tasks with mixed priorities and deliver final analysis in a timely manner.
Should be able to contribute across the entire development cycle (analysis, design, code, test, initial pilot/production launch, and production support)
