Lumine's height is 170 cm, but he looks short compared to the adults in the series. He has fair skin and white hair, with dog-like white ears on top of his head, along with a white tail. As he has sectoral heterochromia, his right eye is blue and his left eye is half-blue half-golden. His outfits change throughout the series. In Episode 134, he is badly injured in a fight and left with a scar over his right eye, it is unknown if the scaring will be permanent or if the eye was damaged beyond repair, but at this current time, he has been unable to open the eye in his werepup or Human form.
Lumine was born in Terranevo, where he was raised by adoptive parents.[1] Sometime before the story began, he started working for Edward Hageman. After being fired and kicked on the streets, he then met Aiden and Kody. After being saved, he started to work for Kody as his bodyguard.
Lumine's job with Hageman did not last long however as two months after he was hired, Lumine found himself fired and on the streets. With no place to stay, Lumine was forced to sleep outside but was awakened by a lost Kody. Lumine attempted to lead Kody to the train station, but only succeeded in getting himself and Kody lost. Even worse, the two boys found themselves cornered by a pick-pocketer who would lead them to the train station if they give him money. Despite neither boy having any money, the pickpocketer attempted to steal Lumine's backpack, but Lumine retaliated. Cornered by both an angry pickpocketer and his two weredogs, Lumine had no choice but to transform...[2]
...into a tiny puppy. The situation became worse when the pickpocketer recognized that Lumine was the puppy that took a stolen wallet from his clutches and returned it to its rightful owner.[3] He brutally kicked Lumine and was about to do worse when Aiden intervened, saving him and Kody. After that incident, Aiden allowed Lumine to live in the Neptune Headquarters and assigned him to be Kody's bodyguard.
Werewolf transformation: As a werewolf, Lumine can transform into a huge canine with enhanced agility and strength. Unlike other werewolves, he has not mastered this transformation and in earlier episodes turns into a tiny puppy instead of a gigantic wolf much bigger than a human. As of Episode 26, he transforms into a full-size wolf after Kody calls out to him, breaking the (possibly symbolic) chains that sealed his werewolf form. As of Episode 31, he is shown to be capable of transforming into both his werepup and full-grown werewolf forms at will. However, he sometimes accidentally shape-shifts in his sleep.
Spirit Vision: Lumine is capable of seeing some spirits, such as Kody's cursed cat. Although it has been stated that only witches can see spirits, Lumine might be able to see them due to being a werewolf.
Lumine is uneasy around her when she first bullies Kody in front of him, yet he was willing to save her from the witch-child kidnappers and is happy when he hears that nobody bullies Kody any more thanks to her.
Despite Lumine's good intentions, he ended up hurting Hageman more often than not. Usually quite a patient man, Hageman constantly complained to Aiden about Lumine's antics and ended up firing Lumine and throwing him onto the streets at the very start of the series.[2]
Although Lumine liked Elijah at first, he became conflicted when he realized he was friends with Calla and Kody's bullies.[4] He later told Elijah that while he doesn't hate him, he's not sure if he likes him either.[5]
Lumine does not have any hard feelings towards him, but he had the word "werewolf" suppressed from his mind using magic when he found out that Lumine is a werewolf when he snuck into the Neptune Headquarters.
The young witch Lumine lives with. Lumine was originally hired to be Kody's bodyguard. At first, Kody seemed to hate him, but Lumine strived to be the best bodyguard and friend he could be for Kody. As the series progressed, Lumine managed to get closer with him, to the point where Kody willingly let Lumine hide in his backpack so he could join him in class.
Kody was also the reason Lumine was able to become a full-size werewolf, but Lumine was still worried about the cat spirit that Kody has around. Now, even though Kody's dad has fired Lumine, he still strives to be good friends with Kody.
Lumine recognized him as the tall ginger guy who would always come into class with a different bandage wrapped around his head, hands, arms. Lumine once asked Aether if he thought the ginger guy was in a gang; Aether laughed and said she was too paranoid.
Given that, she was more wary of him than before. However, it was hard to be distant when Childe always offered to buy them dinner from some gourmet restaurant if their study sessions went too late. And picking up the tab for any expenses that came from their project (including all the groceries they were about to buy, which was not going to be cheap to feed a whole classroom of hungry, broke college students).
Whenever those thoughts bubbled up, she shook her head, trying to get them out; they were only partners for this one project, and once it was over, it was over, right? Why would he be interested in her anyways?
They ventured into the grocery store, winding up and down all the aisles, piling every single ingredient needed, until their shopping cart was nearly filled to the brim. When they finally exited the store, after what seemed like hours of shopping, the sun had set, and the nighttime dark had settled around them.
As the man raised his fists to strike a dazed Childe, Lumine rushed him, tackling his side. With her arms wrapped around his midriff, she swept her feet under his, judo-flipping him onto the ground. Once the attacker was on the ground, Lumine followed through with a deadly choke hold.
Lumine was definitely right about his kitchen. It was very spacious, with marble countertops and stainless steel appliances; there was a kitchen island in the middle, fitted with a stovetop, and multiple ovens lined the walls. Mega rich. She was starting to sound like Paimon.
But even she knew The Harbingers were a famous, elite team of professional fighters who were always feared for their immense skill in any competition they were in. From the Olympics to the UFC, their eleven champions were absolute powerhouses, dominating each and every one of their fields: judo, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, MMA.
He was trying to play it off like he was a smug, cocky bastard, but Lumine saw right through it. There was a reason he had hid what he did for a living. People probably used him for his fame and riches one too many times.
They sat there on the couch, staring at each other, waiting for the other to get up. When neither of them moved, there was a second for a sharp intake of breath before they found their way back to each other, lips locking and hands tangling hair.
Eventually, they found the will to pry apart and actually get started on their project, staying up until the sunrise peeked through the window. The kitchen was a mess, but the project was done, and glistening dishes sat on trays, ready to be fed to their classmates. (She also happily found that Chlide did not lie about his culinary skills, and in fact, it was probably the best home cooking she had ever tasted.)
Lumine has two goals in life. One, find her brother. Two, date as many cute girls as she possibly can. Thankfully, one of those goals is much easier than the other, and since she can't find her brother anywhere... well, good company from cute girls is great!
The air of Mondstadt was fresh and crisp, just as it was on most days. Gently windy, with a slight breeze dusting along the paved streets and reddish roofs, it washed over the skin and tickled it with its coolness. Blonde tresses fluttered along the planes of a sharp-edged face, but it was such a familiar action by then that it was given no mind; rather, gold eyes moved left and right, drinking in the sights with a casual, friendly appeal.
Lumine had walked the streets of Mondstadt more than enough times by now. They were familiar to her, even if the winding back alleys were still mostly a confusion to her. All smooth-paved stone, crisp-tiled roofs, and walls of whitish-beige mortar, it had a very distinct look through and through - but any concept of utilitarian city planning was rather outdone by the angular and often rickety shapes of the buildings themselves, which had no real standard template to their construction.
Some were rectangular, others square; some long, some tall. Many had very narrow bases and wide upper floors, and there were lots of overhangs and arches to walk both under and over. There was little organization to it, but the lack of it also made it organized; it was reliable. The reliability of it was quaint, and the way people navigated it so freely amused her. People looked free, really, always breezy in their displays, and Lumine found the wind-swept city rather cute.
Some people waved to her as she passed them by, and she waved back in turn, cheerful and bright. Many knew her just as Traveler, and that was fine by her; she was a Dragon-slayer - allegedly - and an honourary Knight of Favonius. They knew her to some degree or another, whether through reputation or direct intervention. Either way, she remained chipper in the face of their recognition, and when it passed, she was still moving along.
It was a hot moment before Amber appeared. She was always late. It was her thing, and where that would normally be a concern for a knight of Favonius, she rather doubted that the Outriders had any real schedule to them. Or oversight. Or anything, really. Given that Amber was the only and the last of them for whatever reason, Lumine was fairly sure she was left to her own devices - so long as they proved fruitful, of course.
