I can't get pass this step. I can do "Test/Query" and I get an OK
But when I click Modem Configuration, the modem is UNKNOWN.
when I click Read, i get "The modem configuration file was not found. Would you like to check the web for updates?"
I click YES.
It searches, then says, "Modem configuration file not found after update."
What am I missing?

Is this the error message I shouldn't be concerned about, according to the book?

In the terminal window, can you check the version of the software on the radio?

Type +++ and wait for an OK response. Then type ATVR and hit return. You should see a four-character response, like 218C or something like that. This is the version on the radio.

I got 22A0.
What do I do with that information?

I'm assuming you're using the ITP laptops? And that they are running the current version of X-CTU which is 5.2.7.5? You can manually force a firmware installation by selecting XB24-ZB in the Modem pop-up, whatever firmware set you want in the Function Set pop-up, and then the latest version of the firmware in the Version pop-up. Which should be 2xA7 with the "x" changing dependent upon whether it's Coordinator, Router, AT, API and so forth.

Let me know how that goes. In years past the ITP laptops were kinda spottily maintained, but hopefully they're shipshape now. If not, I'll talk to Marlon about it.

Oh, and then once you've selected all those things, choose "Always Update Firmware" and click on Write!

That seemed to work. Thanks! I'll let you know if I run into other issues.

Hey -- Anyone know where to download Mac USB drivers. I have updated the firmware on Windows, but the port is not showing up in terminal or coolterm.
