It's likely that I'll probably be up on the chopping block soon, with
my breaking the tie in favor of Shiney. It's probably best to let it
happen at this point, as there isn't likely anyone else suspicious
enough to offer any kind of competition, and any attempt to save me
will likely just out more of you.

Of course, I'd welcome any input on what I might be able to say to
alay suspicion, and the day has barely started so it's possible I'm
just being my usual paranoid self, but we shall see :P

I think you have a right to be paranoid. Actually, you and cb both. I
have a feeling that the vigilante is a fairly insightful past player,
since they knew killing shiney would give them the most information
because of the ties. Or they're just lazy and picked the second in
line.

I'd look for the first person to call for you or cb for the lynch as
the vigilante.

Of course, if it's one of the more experienced players, the vigilante
could be one of those doing just the opposite, and blaming everyone
but cb or I, so as not to arouse are suspicions.

Damn, trying to figure out the bluff/double bluff sucks. *sigh*

Plus it's hard not to start accusing you two myself, since I always
try to play like I would as a townie regardless of who I am. ;-)

As for things to say to allay suspicion... well, I'm not sure. The
"tits" defense is the best that comes to mind immediately (been at
internship and classes all day, strategic gems are not easy at the
moment) but I'll mull it over a bit and see if anything comes out.

Thanks, I'll probably try and stick to the "roleplaying" of acting all
crazy-like, for now :D

Wait to see if the voting really tips against you. If it does, LIE.
Say that you're a ronin seeking to regain your - what better guise for
researching the town than a homeless crazy man? Point out that it
would be a shame to waste your abilities.

This will possibly cause the real ronin to role reveal and might swing
the vote away from you to an innocent lil townie.

I'd also suggest that some (not all!) of us should vote against you if
it's pretty clear you're going to buy it. And not all at the same
time, either. Someone should do so now. For the moment I'm going to
vote Context on the basis that Hipatitis has said he was the first
suspicious vote.

Well Todo already has four votes so I'll vote against him and change
my vote later if need be.

... there's no reason to believe it's a bandwagon with only three
votes. It's too late to change your vote now, as that'd only arouse
suspicion.

Now you have 5 to Dismortis's 3. Eighteen hours left.

5 to 4 now with six people still to vote, three of them ours. It'll be
tough to avoid suspicion if we save Todo. I think one more of ours
should vote for Todo and two for Dismortis, simply to spread out the
ninja vote pattern. Hell, maybe we can convince the three other
townies to off Dismortis or at least get a double-lynch.

I think half of you should rail on me, and half on dismortis. If
double lynches work, at least you'll take down a townie, and I think
if people try too hard to save me there'll be even more suspicion, and
I'm sure the ronin will target either me or Dismortis tonight anyways.
Or, whoever survives, at least.

I agree that the ronin will target the second place, so we might as
well look clean by pushing you into first or at the best a tie.

I'll feel kind of bad if my vote makes it so you definitely die, since
that'll be two games in a row I killed you. :(

I feel ya on that one. I have finals coming up way too soon, and am
swamped, but mafia is like a siren call I can't resist.

I can change my vote to Dismortis, but dismortis still can change his
vote to either one of us and tie it again. Or I could vote todomanna
like I did the first day. I think that would be less suspicious but
then todomanna would probably die.

What would you say to someone pointing out that it's possible that my
"outing" is painfully obvious, and possibly trying to save another
ninja, say Dismortis? Obviously they might point out that it could be
flatulance, as well, so I'd like to hear what your thoughts of how it
might play out are.

I'm worried because Dismortis hasn't changed his vote yet.

I just realized I already voted for Dismortis. That would likely be a
deal breaker...

Wow. I have to say I'm over here laughing quite hard that -_- thinks
the reason he survived the night was because he voted for who he now
suspects to be a ninja, rather than because we didn't see him as
threat 1 to us. His paranoia about how he normally would have been
killed immediately even before sythe is quite entertaining actually.
Though it does make me think he's our ronin, there's no question to
him that Todo is lying.

juju

Also, we can use this to our advantage, by pointing out that if that
were the reason ninjas wouldn't kill -_- then who sythe voted for must
be innocent. Who just so happens to be a ninja (I forgot about that
til Dismortis brought up who sythe went after)

What do you guys think of theolypse? He's commenting quite strangely,
and I'm not sure how to interpret it.

The reason -_- survived the first night is that I'm an innocent townie
and not one of the ninjas. Or at least that's my argument.

Theo sounds kind o like he's trying to ingratiate himself on the
ninjas (assuming he actually thinks I'm a ninja, which I assume is
obvious cause I know I am), it could mean either his strategy is to
make us think he's the Black Miko, or he is the Black Miko.

Er, sorry if I'm not supposed to be talking after voting ceased, but
my death hasn't been posted yet, so I assumed I wasn't dead yet.

cb361

I guess that if the Alchemist brings Sythe back to life, it isn't such
a bad state of affairs for us. The Alchemist's potion will be taken
out of the picture and the Geisha will have to spend the rest of the
game protecting Sythe instead of investigating players. Of course
"Sythe Reborn" would also be a dangerous rallying figure, but less so
than he would be in the end-game. And though we don't know for sure
whether the Geisha is looking after Sythe, but at least we know if one
of us got geishaed in the night.

As always in Mafia, if we don't steam-roll the Samurai during the
first half of the game, we'll definitely lose the final half.

I wish I knew who to vote to murder.

I don't think that the samurai have any special players, but I might
be wrong because the Ninja thief wasn't included in Redemption's list.
If so, their one-shot investigator might be keeping quiet.

For lack of anything better, I'd say ninja Equinophobe. He was the
first to vote for Toddomanna, so I suppose he might have been
discussing a bandwagon with Samurai friends last night. Anybody got
anything better?

" Well, with seven minutes to go, I wash my hands of you all. When
that demon escapes Todomanna's fevered brain and starts killing you
off in the night, I'm going to laugh.

And then move to a new village, because demon-haunted ones are really
far too stressful for my weak gallbladder."

Theolypse could be role-revealing as the Miko here... or not. Maybe
I'm just paranoid.

Anyhow, Equinophobe sounds good to me. I'm going to go over the posts
again in more detail and see if I can discover anything I might have
missed.

Check out LethalFlatulence's column for some bandwagon action. And
the votes were close in time, too. I'd go for verycleanteeth since
his was the first vote in the block of 3 that landed on LF within half
an hour, then I'd go for the other two.

It does look rather bad for eightysix, iqqy, cb361 and myself that we
piled on Dismortis the way we did. I hadn't checked carefully to see
who'd previously voted for him and it was a tactical error - that's
the main reason I made this spreadsheet. Dismortis is another prime
candidate for a night kill, just because he's being annoyingly vocal,
but it's probably best not to do him straight away.

Not eightysix or stratafyre, as -_- seems to want to lynch one of them
tomorrow.

Very fine list there. I agree, verycleanteeth would be an interesting
one to kill, although I'd be cautious of killing those who hop on
bandwagons against us.
I would also say someone who's voting alone would be a good target. Or
if we assume Dismortis is a Samauri we could look at the not-us
portions of both LF and Todo's bandwagons.

Maybe not the people that voted for me, that might make me look more
ninja-y. Everyone knows that I'm not a samurai, and that would be a
good reason for the ninjas to leave me alone.

Yeah, I don't think we should kill verycleanteeth, since he voted for
LethalFlatulence. Let's just go with Equinophobe, it seems like a
random enough kill that it shouldn't place suspicion on any of us.
I think Omegaphobic's earlier suggestion of having the same member
carry out all our night kills is a sound one, so I'll name juju as the
killer again.

*sigh* well, you'll have to find someone else to do the killing for
you now. I'm out boys, our buddy Equinophobe was the Oni, I got the PM
from redemption.

Mm. I kinda feel that giving a town-allied character (or at least one
whose mission is to target the town's enemies) a night kill is a
little unbalancing, but oh well. A lot of you have been pretty low
profile so far so you still might potentially pull it off if you don't
do *anything* suspicious and just focus on night kills.

That's me out -
