displaying boolean values in multiviz

I am using a home automation system to control the underfloor heating in my home. Underfloor heating changes state relatively slowly, so to understand how opening and closing the hot water valves affects the temperature of the rooms I have tried to create sensemeters which display over time

1. the state of the hot water valve (boolean: open or closed);
   
2. the room temperature.
   

I have created feeds for these values in open.sen.se without any problem. However, I am having difficulty displaying the state of the hot water valves (i.e. open or closed). I have used multiviz to display the temperatures (is there anything more appropriate?), but the valve state does not show up in multiviz. Is this a known restriction (feature?) of multiviz? Or should it work?

Is there a better way of doing what I want to do? I'd be grateful for any tips.
