Hi Roland,

Thanks for this amazing feedback. Below are some remarks about your recommendations, I hope you will find them useful.
I've not commented on each of your findings by you can be sure that they have been transmitted to the Sen.se team.

+ Recommendation 1: a useful addition to Open Sense would be to include a self-documenting diagrammatic representation of the dataflows into a sensemeter.
=> There is in fact such a representation which is accessible in the settings of each sensemeter. Click on the menu of the Sensemeter > settings. On the left hand side of the window you should see a diagram of the inputs and ouputs for the Sensemeter. For applications which do not display a Sensemter you can get the same diagram on the settings page of the application. At the moment however, it only allows you to see the direct relationships with the application.

+ Recommendation 2: all applications should allow the data feed to be named/renamed
=> You're right, there is a consistency issue accros applications (that's because they are developed by different developers and Sen.se does not enforce strict guidelines on how to develop them). However, you can change the name of a feed after it has been created. To do so, navigate to the feed profile page (via the data path of the application for an application feed or via the device page for a device feed) and click on the name of the feed in the title of the page.

+ Recommendation 3: The management of Unit of Measure should be an end-user function
=> I'm not sure I understood in which application you wanted to change the unit, but the unit can be changed for your current cost meter. Go to the device page and click 'Change device settings'

+ Recommendation 4: Allow two data items at the same time to be part of the same event
=> This would need some rework in the application but could be done by defining a timeframe in the application and considering the events received in this timeframe as part of the same event. I've transmitted the suggestion.

+ Complex data structure
=> This is definitely something we're looking into

Again, thank you for this very valuable feeback.

Franck

Hi,
I've just completed my first Senseboard. You can see it at http://open.sen.se/SeekingGreeness
I have documented the steps I took and made some suggestions for improvement in my blog at http://wp.me/pWmzZ-3c
I'd like your feed back on ways to improve it or to correct any misconceptions I might have. Thanks
