I'm really upset that that open.sen.se is not available for few days, and without any previous warning. Is it time to move away from cloud based services and finally run my own database sa one by one internet-of-things databases in the cloud go offline or tighten ways to get to my data, restrict API access...

What do you use now that open.sen.se is not available?

This article on SparkFun's site lists a few IoT services: https://www.sparkfun.com/news/1814
But for some reason, it omits SparkFun's own *free* (as in beer and freedom) service, https://data.sparkfun.com/
If you don't want them to have your data, or you can't live with their terms of service, or for whatever reason, you could instead run the underlying (also free) software, "phant", on your own server.
