Hi Team:
Congrats again! In spite of winning the Robot Design Award and coming so close to winning the performance award, I could see that Anish and Arjun were little bummed out for not getting the Championship trophy. So I want to point out a few things in case a few of you are feeling a bit down today L
1. I can assure you that the other 50 teams that came yesterday, the other 29 teams that did not win at the IVC and the numerous kids that wished that they had at least tried what you did, are feeling even more bummed out
2. My advice is the same: This will not be your first victory or your first loss; Start enjoying the process
3. We will bounce back better having learnt few things from this experience
4. At this stage, what we learn is more important
5. Finally, you guys ACTUALLY WON what I think is one of few very significant trophies of all
6. Few teams I have spoken are in awe of what you have done
7. You should be really really proud that you came on top of 30+ other teams and came close to being on top of another 55 teams
8. Hope that cheered you up a bit..In case it didn’t, get some ice cream ;)
There are still few next steps after this:
1. Closure with the Google guys. They helped us and offered to meet us after our competition. We owe it to them and to ourselves to see where to take this. It is not often that you get to work with people like that. Lets recognize that and thank for offering the most precious resource of all that is time!
2. Let’s try to do that this week since I will be out of town after 9th and won't have time until Christmas and I suspect that they will not have time till the New Year after that
3. Does Wed/Thurs work?
4. Figure out a Trophy sharing plan
5. Figure out if/when you guys want to submit to the Global Innovation award. It is a new game plan for that one. However, you need to decide if you have the energy and time to do that. It is totally up to you.
Please share pictures, post online and take backups as needed.
