Dear Senegambian Studies Group Member:

 

Happy New Year! The election for the new executive board is now complete. We are happy to report that the nominated slate has been accepted with 19 votes in favor, none opposed. The remaining membership did not vote.

 

The new Executive Board is as follows:

 

•       President: Babacar Mbaye (Kent State U, incumbent)
•       Vice-President: Mariame Sy (Columbia U, incumbent)
•       Treasurer: Gana Ndiaye (Boston U)
•       Secretary-General: Niklas Hultin (George Mason U)
•       Press Secretary: Bamba Ndiaye (U Louisville)
•       Auditor (Internal): Fatou Drammeh (Ohio U)
•       Auditor (External): Aliou Ly (Middle Tennessee State U).

 

The new board members will be contacted shortly with the agenda for the upcoming semester. Let us also take this opportunity to thank those board members who are cycling off. Special thanks are due to Charles Riley who in his capacity as auditor managed an orderly election.
