Dear Senegambian Studies Group
listserv member,
On behalf of the board, I am
writing to update you on two important items regarding the African Studies
Association annual meeting in DC in November.
- The submission/registration deadline has been pushed back to
April 1 due to COVID-19 virus. We are still looking for more paper
proposals for the two SGSG sponsored panels. Please see attached document
for more information.
- Individuals can now register for becoming official members of
the Senegambian Studies Group (SSG) for an annual fee of $20, as
determined by the organization’s by-laws. The ASA has recently given
to the Senegambian Studies Group the status of a coordinate organization.
This will allow our members to pay for their dues to the group when they
register for the annual conference. After they log on to ASA’s website,
members can access the registration page here: https://myasa.africanstudies.org/subscription/fill/22
If you have any questions about
either item, please let me (ihu...@gmu.edu) or SGSG President Babacar Mbaye
(bmb...@kent.edu) know.
We hope that everyone stays
well in this time of uncertainty.
Best wishes,
Babacar
M’Baye, Ph.D.
