Dear Members of the Senegambian Studies Group,

 

Thank you for your attention to voting on the proposed bylaw amendment that would have added a graduate student representative to the Senegambian Studies Group board.  That measure would have required approval by two-thirds of the membership, but fell short.  We were also looking for additional nominations to fill positions that are up for election during this cycle.  We did receive nominations for the graduate student representative position, but those have become moot with the result of the vote on the amendment.

 

Therefore, the current slate up for election stands as:

 

•             President: Babacar Mbaye (Kent State U, incumbent)

•             Vice-President: Mariame Sy (Columbia U, incumbent)

•             Treasurer: Gana Ndiaye (Boston U)

•             Secretary-General: Niklas Hultin (George Mason U)

•             Press Secretary: Bamba Ndiaye (U Louisville)

•             Auditor (Internal): Fatou Drammeh (Ohio U)

•             Auditor (External): Aliou Ly (Middle Tennessee State U).
