Job Title: SQL Server DBA
Location: Chicago
Term: 6 months, with possible extensions
Interview Format: 1st - Phone Screen, 2nd - Video interview/Skype


Job Description:

Responsibilities:

• Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle
environments, from development to mission-critical production systems
• Configure and maintain SQL database servers and processes, including
monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of
performance, availability, and security
• Identify trending gaps and issues in day-to-day performance of DB
systems and applications
• Independently analyze, and solve issues in real time, providing
problem resolution end-to-end
• Refine and automate deployment and migration processes,
track issues, and document changes
• Propose strategies to anticipate the high volumes of requests and
data, and ensure the DB platforms are scaling accordingly

Skills Required:
• Have 8+ years of experience in DB administration
• Expert in database security and data encryption
• Strong experience in Performance tuning and data partitioning
• Experience with SQL Server administration, data backups and server upgrades
• Strong analytical skills required along with proven understanding of
managing large databases
• Expert in data structure design & data modelling for SQL Server
• Experience working in a cloud infrastructure environment with setup
such as AWS
• Hands-on technical design experience with an enterprise background is required
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to travel and work with global teams
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
