Send later with PC turned off

As I can see, 'Send Later" is working only when the PC is turned ON and Thunderbird is open. 
So if I want to schedule an email to be send after 3 hours, I'll have to keep my PC on.
My suggestion is to that the email to be sent to a third party server, and that server send the email to original destinator at the specified time.
That way, I can shut down my PC after schedule an email to be send later.

That's not what Send Later does, and it's not going to change.

If leaving your computer on is a problem, the Send Later user guide lists alternatives.
