I did a lot of troubleshooting in Thunderbird before I found this
I was not getting copies of anything in the sent folder. I looked further and NO scheduled mail has gone out since installing 8.9.2. If I send immediately everything works as expected
I found all the mail in the outbox and nothing will send it from there - even the File/send messages in outbox is grayed out
I even killed the outbox in the profile folder with Tbird closed of course then opened the prog and no joy
I am not sure whether this is a SendLater issue ... I installed
one other extension [manually sort folders] I can't be sure of
what is causing this as it started a couple of days ago and I did
not catch it right away
This is almost certainly the fault of Manually Sort Folders. See
this
comment in Bugzilla for a fix.

I had that uneducated suspicion but removing it did not help (I just read the link to bugzilla)
Jonathan provided a link for manually restoring it and that worked for me
Thanks!

Here it is. What he calls the "registry" is really the about:config editor

Ah, sorry I didn't realize that the thread had moved off this list.
The solution came from another user who had a similar problem related to migrating their profile to a new computer. It turned out that they had at some point removed an account from their profile which had previously been marked as the "primary" account, so Thunderbird effectively had no primary account. It turns out that's a prerequisite for the outbox mechanism working at all, so Thunderbird had disabled the outbox entirely.
The fix is described here: https://github.com/Extended-Thunder/send-later/issues/292#issuecomment-779494220
Let me know if that doesn't solve it for you.
Best,
-Jonathan
