Apply by May 1st for a NEH Preservation Assistance Grant

Institutions applying to the National Endowment for the Humanities for
a Preservation Assistance Grant (PAG)
http://www.neh.gov/grants/guidelines/pag.html]for an environmental
monitoring project should consider the products and services available
from IPI. NEH is familiar with IPI's tools and approaches—IPI itself
has received NEH and IMLS grants in the past to develop some of the
most advanced preservation tools available.

Preservation Assistance Grants of up to $6,000 are available to
support the preservation of materials in small and mid-sized
libraries, archives, museums, and historical organizations. The
deadline for application to this program is May 1, 2012 for projects
beginning in January 2013
([http://www.neh.gov/grants/guidelines/pag.html]).
Note that no cost share or matching funds are required and that applicants to
this program generally have a high success rate.

According to the Preservation Assistance Grant guidelines, funds may
be used for:   Consultation with professionals to address a specific
preservation issue such as:
- Establishing an environmental monitoring program
- Developing plans for improving environmental conditions
- Purchase of environmental monitoring equipment: dataloggers and associated
data analysis software
- Training in the use and installation of environmental monitoring
equipment and the interpretation of data
- Education and training projects, including: Hiring consultants to
conduct on-site training tailored to fit the needs of your institution
