This extension makes TSE draw indentation guide lines.
In Windows graphically and in Linux with the vertical bar character.
You can configure the guide lines' color and in Windows also their density.

v1.2 22 Nov 2025:

This is an anticlimactic update. A huge amount of code was (re)written,
and the biggest change is, that the few occasional obsolete guide lines,
that the previous version did not clean up, are now cleaned up.

Other than that, a new warning and a few error messages were added,
and under the hood lots of optimizations were done.

There seems to be an issue (see that 'a' character in the vertical red line).

Running guidelines.s version 1.2 out of the box on TSE v4.50 RC24

I can not reproduce it in the latest clean 4.50.13 with same setup.

So probably just forget about it, 

I can continue using the old working 

GuideLines.s version 1.1.1

in my TSE v4.50 RC24.

Thus something with my system.

As stated, this issue can be ignored as I have a workaround.

OK, I managed to reproduce it after some more thinking about what could be the root cause that I only see it in my working version of TSE.

So the font came up as a very likely candidate and as I know that 'Courier New' is a favorite font in general here.

So I changed the font to my working choice of font: 

 'Terminal normal size 9' 

and there was the effect (see screenshot, the extra 'a' in the vertical bar.

My settings in the TSE.ini are edited and changed to permanently:

GuideLineColor=4
GuideLineDensity=9

Tested in a clean latest TSE version 4.50.13

Hi Knud

You often send many emails within a short time (this time 4 within 20 minutes).

For better communication, I recommend once you write an email, don't send it yet. Wait for example one hour. Leave it in your outbox.

As more information pops up, you can consolidate the email (all in one email).

If there are no new discoveries within one hour, feel free to push the send button.

My letter is the "á" and after I chose the 9 for Guide Lines Density the line went thru the letter (á).

There's something wrong with the tse.ini because the GuideLineDensity=9 was missing so after closing the file and restarting after putting this in the tse.ini and loading the macro the result was the same (letter á and line present).
