Bug: "Find and Do, Count" counts 1 too many

If I create a new empty buffer and add the line

   one two three

and then use the menu

   Search -> Find and Do -> “two” -> “gin” -> Count,

then it reports “2 occurrence(s) found”.

 

For me counting with “Find and Do” consistently reports 1 occurrence too many.

Reproduced here in clean 4.42.00 (result is 2 instead of expected 1):

PROC Main()

 INTEGER bufferI = CreateTempBuffer()

 AddLine( "one two three" )

I tried Find&DO / count for "1" / (ig) on a couple files
and then did lfind("1","igv") on the same files.
Find&Do reported one more than the compressed view.

Which reminds me, I wish I had a way that a macro could
retrieve the text displayed by the last (several?) message() and warn()
procs so some interactive procedures could be better used in macros.
Maybe in a buffer like Capture? Is there a way to do something like
that now? Sorry I dont have a more specific example ready to share.
