I was just upgrading to the latest Windows version. In the past, I
always installed to an empty directory and migrated my settings and
modified macros by hand. This time, I decided to try the suggested
upgrade route of upgrading into the existing directory (after taking a
backup, of course), and it all worked pretty much as expected. Thanks
for making this work - much less manual work for me.

Next I tried to do something I obviously don't do often. As the email
subject suggests, I wanted to see if I could display line numbers, for
example in columns 1-5. Sometimes that is handy when editing source
code, doing diffs, etc. To my surprise, having used Semware editors for
30 years, I couldn't find this capability. I looked on the Semware web
site for a macro, and couldn't find that either. Most dedicated source
code editors and IDEs have this ability.

Has anyone figured out a way to do this? Appreciate any suggestions.

A line numbers configuration option exists since TSE 4.4(0), which was released in 2005, so 17 years ago. You can find its configuration menu under "Display/Color Options" -> "Display/Layout Options" -> "Show Line Numbers". It is so old, that it is even documented in TSE's Help. You can configure the colors for the line number column with the configuration menu "Display/Color Options" -> "Set Colors" -> "Select Editing Colors" -> "LineNumbers". The width of the line numbers column automatically adapts to the size of the largest line number in each buffer.

Thank you, Carlo! Works great - I simply couldn't find it. Not easy to
find by searching the help either.
