For a few weeks now I've running FilePal under TSE 2.5 for DOS.

It seemed to be performing as advertised. But this morning as I was
backing up some TSE macro files to floppies, I thought I should
probably also back-up the FILEPAL.DAT file.

I found it in the TSE\MAC directory, but was puzzled to see that it
was date-stamped 9-10-02 (!).

Then, a little while later, DOSSHELL froze up solid as a block of ice,
(as it is wont to do) so I had to reboot the computer.

When I reloaded TSE, I was disappointed to find that all of my FilePal
settings had vanished.

Here's how I was using FilePal:

Every time I changed a setting in TSE, I would open
FilePal>Extensions>Write parms and hit <Enter>. I assumed, apparently
erroneously, that "Write parms" meant that my settings were being
written to FILEPAL.DAT.

So, what's the trick to saving the FilePal settings to the FILEPAL.DAT
file?

It has occurred to me that I may be looking for my FilePal settings in
the wrong place.

So, perhaps I'm asking the wrong question.

Should I instead be asking: "Where does FilePal save its settings;
and how can I make sure it doesn't "forget" my settings when I reboot
my computer?

Since the group has been pretty active the last few days I thought I'd
give this question one more try:
