Is there a way you could let us specify:

(1) Background image
(2) Opacity

To use that for an editor background rather than just a solid color?

On Windows you can render two off-screen buffers, and overlay the image. and then AlphaBlend the TSE frame buffer.

It would slowdown the display mildly, but it would be a worthwhile tradeoff IMO.  My aging eyes don't like to see big panels of a solid color any longer.  I modified Visual FoxPro to use _screen.Image = "c:\images\colorful_lion.png" as an image background.  And created an app to also randomly select an image from that folder.

Not exactly what you ask, but a kind-a-solution is to set TSE’s Transparency configuration option to view whatever is behind TSE as background.
I just discovered I can watch a full-screen YouTube video through TSE’s editing text.
Mood videos like fireplace, cabin in the rain, train ride and street walk come to mind.

I would like to do this!
No idea how though :)
But I will look into it, as time allows.
Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks, Sammy.

I'll write you some demo code.  You can use it as a template.
