We are told by security experts to never click on URLs in email messages. I never ever click on links received in an email. ALWAYS include a description of what the URL references. We cannot tell what the URL
bit.ly links to. Your contact list could have been stolen, and a hacker or bot could be sending out emails to everyone in your contacts. This has happened to several friends of mine.
Abandon use of
bit.ly It is much better to put a description of the macro or program or source followed by the full URL. Anti-virus packages can investigate the link by hovering the mouse cursor over the URL.
