Dear all,
We are inviting you to participate in a research study on language-specific method naming, part of a project exploring how developers assign names to unnamed method bodies in Python, Java, and JavaScript based on their class context.
This study is conducted with the approval of Concordia university's Research Ethics Board, under certificate number 30022030.
Participation requires reading and signing a consent form, which is included at the beginning of the survey.
About the survey:
  • Task: suggest appropriate names for given method bodies and their surrounding class context
  • Duration: approximately 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Sections: introduction and consent, professional background information, main naming task, feedback and optional follow-up.
Your contribution will help improve tools for code comprehension and support maintainable software practices.
To participate, please click on the following link.
Thank you for considering this opportunity. Your input is greatly appreciated.
We would be grateful if you could complete the survey by Friday, august 29th, 2025 at 11:59 PM
Best regards,
Minette Zongo M.
