I though that this was going to be an impressive image in color. Thanks
to photoshop, I found it had more impact, to me at least, in black and
white.
An emphasis on form rather than a distraction of color.
I was doing something, I cannot remember what exactly, but I saw this
sunflower outside a house a block away from my apartment. I thought
about it all day as I went about my routine. Late in the afternoon I
walked over to the house with my camera bag and shot a hundred or so
images. While I was working, the family who occupied the house came
home. Fortunately, they were quite accepting at my desire for
photographing their sunflower. I think they were amused, and puzzled at
my attempts at capturing this perfect specimen. Either way, I could
care less and I was enraptured with the form and color.
I did not really walk away with what I thought I was going to get, or
maybe I did... considering the options available to me, I might not
really know. Slide film was so nice and simple.
