Skill-set requirement for Digital Circuit Design position:

Circuit Design:

- Transistor basics (cross-section, regions of operation,
current equations, Threshold Voltage and its impact on power/
performance, secondary effects, etc.)

- Inverter basics (switching characteristics, threshold,
noise margins, types of power dissipation, etc.)

- Sizing of basic logic gates (Inv, Nand, Nor, etc.)

- Realization of simple logic using transistors

- RC effects in long wires/interconnect

- Clock tree networks, clock divider circuits (optional)



Electrical Analysis:

- Electromigration (Power EM and Signal EM)

- IR drop

- Crosstalk/Noise



Timing Closure:

- Static timing analysis (flop-to-flop paths)

- 0-cycle, 1-cycle and multi-cycle paths

- Good understanding of the concepts is key even if
there’s no hands-on experience
