JOURNAL OF ISLAMIC FINANCE (JIF)
Journal of Islamic Finance is published by the IIUM Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance (IIiBF) of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). IIiBF is a Centre of excellence for education and research in Islamic banking and finance with the aim of educating and producing competent graduates and scholars knowledgeable in Shari'ah and related modern disciplines pertaining to the fields of law, economics, and finance.
The objective of this journal is to present state-of-the-art researches in the field of Islamic finance. We welcome research papers with analytical, empirical and mathematical orientation as well as well as research papers focusing on techniques, methods, shariah issues and applications.
The journal will be published three times in a year (April, August and December) and all articles submitted are in English.
Some possible research topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Islamic banking operation
2. Islamic banking marketing
3. Customer behavior in Islamic banking
4. Risk management in Islamic banking
5. Profitability and performance of Islamic banking
6. Islamic banking and economic growth
7. Islamic capital markets
8. Islamic mutual funds
9. Islamic microfinance institutions
10. Behavioral finance
11. Islamic stock markets
12. Moslem investors’ behavior
13. Zakat and Awqf
The submission deadline for Volume 1 Issue 1 is August 31, 2012.
The following are submission guidelines:
1. Electronic Submission is requested. Please send a Word file (.doc and .docx) of the manuscript to ab...@iium.edu.my and abduh...@gmail.com.
2. Manuscripts must be typed with a double spacing throughout, on one side of A4 paper only, with a 4cm left-hand margin. The text and references should be checked thoroughly for errors before submission. It is the responsibility of the author to ensure that the typescript is correct in style, syntax and spelling. Papers should normally be divided into headed sections. The text should be in Times New Roman font size 12.
3. The first page of the typescript must contain: the full title, name and affiliation of authors; a running title of not more than 75 letters; an abstract of not more than 200 words; and the name, full postal address and email of the corresponding author.
4. Any word or words to be abbreviated should be written in full when first mentioned followed by the abbreviation in parentheses.
5. The Harvard system of referencing is used.
When quoted in the text style is: ...Smith (1995)... or (Brown and Jones, 2002) or ...Smith et al. (2004a).
References are listed alphabetically after the text.
Journal and book titles should be written out
in full.
