The old MarcOnt ontology is being heavily rebuild as we speak.
The confusions we got with ontology were
based on the fact that we were trying to be as much MARC21 compliant as
possible. The new version we work on at the moment - should be much easier to
understand, and it should answer some of your concerns. @Maciej can tell you
more about that.
I have also heard about some new moves with W3C and semdl
